Responsibilities
Guide the ingestion team in designing, developing and optimizing robust data processing pipelines with scalable architecture, design, coding standards, and best practices to ensure high-quality software solutions
Architect and implement ETL workflows using Java and Pentaho or similar tools to efficiently ingest and transform large datasets in linux/windows based environment
Mentor, coach, and support software engineers, fostering professional growth and skill development
Participate in coding, debugging, and optimization, ensuring high performance and scalability
Work closely with product managers, Business Analysts and other technical teams to align development efforts with business goals
Promote innovation, improve processes, and encourage a culture of learning within the engineering team
Conduct performance profiling and tuning to ensure optimal application efficiency
Analyze complex issues, debug critical errors, and resolve software defects with precision
Implement industry-leading coding standards, maintain high code quality, and conduct peer reviews
Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance application capabilities
Qualification
Required
Professional qualification or equivalent
12+ years' experience Java and ETL framework with minimum 2+ years in a leadership or mentorship role
Working experience in relational DB and SQL query profiling and optimization
Excels in leading development teams to build mission-critical applications, offering hands-on expertise in debugging and optimization
Driven to mentor and guide engineering teams while applying strong debugging techniques to ensure performance and reliability in enterprise systems
Combines leadership with technical proficiency, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues to maintain high-quality software delivery
Is an expert in design patterns
Has experience in writing code with test drive development
Stakeholder and people management experience
Must have experience in leading/mentoring team(s) by providing a technical and application perspective throughout project lifecycle
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance
Preferred
Preferable to have experience in Azure technologies
Working experience with projects delivered with Agile Release methodology
