Responsibilities
Attract, hire, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers
Establish and maintain a high standard for technical excellence
Ensure your team delivers reliable, scalable, and secure solutions
Partner with product managers, data engineers, data scientists and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Contribute to the overall engineering strategy for Roblox
Find opportunities for innovation and growth, and prioritize projects that deliver the most value to our users
Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team
Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of new technologies
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience leading and scaling engineering teams, ideally in a high-growth environment
2+ years of experience in engineering management - setting roadmap, charter, vision, key metrics for the engineering team
Deep understanding of data principles, architectures, and technologies
8+ years of experience with big data tools and technologies like Kafka, Flink, Druid, Spark, optimized Sql, Map Reduce, HDFS, Hive
Experience with programming languages like Golang, Java, Python, Helm, Terraform
Experience working with Cloud providers like AWS - S3, EMR, EKS
Strong alignment with Roblox's leadership principles, including a focus on respect, safety, creativity, and community
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and leaders across the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to break down complex challenges and develop creative solutions
Data driven in decision making and eager to make Data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable
A genuine excitement for our platform and the possibilities of the metaverse
Preferred
A graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is a plus
