Responsibilities

Defending school districts in employment-related lawsuits, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims

Handling disputes before agencies such as the EEOC, state education departments, and labor boards

Managing discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations with a focus on public sector employment regulations and education law

Advising school boards, superintendents, and HR leaders on Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and state-specific education regulations

Developing strategies to mitigate risks in labor disputes, employee discipline, hiring practices, and contract negotiations

Advising on teacher tenure, union relations, and collective bargaining agreements

Drafting and reviewing employment policies, teacher and staff contracts, and compliance documents in line with state and federal laws

Conducting training workshops for school district leadership and HR on compliance, anti-discrimination, sexual harassment prevention, and union rules

Providing strategic counsel and proactive case management to reduce litigation exposure
