Responsibilities

Manage the ECMO team as far as; daily staffing and assignments

Ensuring correct back up equipment is accessible

Supplies are stocked and readily available

Performing training for ECMO Specialists according to UF Health ECMO policy

Assist with the updating and/or creation of policies for the ECMO team

Be able to perform the job duties of the ECMO Specialist

Adjust and create staff schedules for the ECMO Specialist team

Assist in the review and tracking of quality improvement initiatives reported to the ECMO Coordinator

Respond to Emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitations (eCPR)

Ensuring equipment is ready and available

Assure the ECMO Coordinator and hospital administration are notified of any staffing or resource concerns

Required

ECMO Primer with at least one-year experience

Proficient in troubleshooting common day to day complications of ECMO runs

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy or Registered Nurse program

Current State of Florida licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse

A minimum of one-year experience as an ECMO Primer

Basic Life Support certification

PALS certification (may be obtained within 6 weeks of hire)

ACLS certification (may be obtained within 6 weeks of hire)
