Responsibilities
Budget management: Diligently manages investment and expense budgets to maximize company profit potential
Performance management: Manages performance of each direct report and builds development plans that support growth and succession
Vendor partnership: Defines key vendor partnerships and establishes goals and identifies opportunities to capitalize on mutually beneficial ventures that align with respective positioning and strategy
Interdepartmental collaboration: Collaborates with Merchandise Planning, Operations, and Store Operations to align expectations, ensuring associates understand trends and identify potential opportunities
Market exploration: Travels markets to understand merchandise trends and uses the information to influence future strategy and vision
Buying oversight: Oversees the execution of preseason and in-season buying vision for each direct report, as well as the development of a lifecycle strategy, including pricing and exit plans
Strategic Leadership: Leads and maximizes smart verticalization opportunities, oversees the Product Review process to deliver trend-right stories, and guides seasonal Go-To-Market meetings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
8+ years buying experience
Previous footwear experience
Ability to travel (20-40%)
Preferred
Master's degree
Previous DMM or GMM role
5+ years managing buying teams
