Lead Controls Engineer
Kyocera International, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high-tech ceramics across various industries including aerospace and automotive. They are seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to develop and improve capabilities for communication and control with instrumentation and database systems, while collaborating with internal teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Responsibilities
Prepares instrument lists, specifications, control system drawings, instrument data sheets, and calculations
Selects, specifies and, working with vendors and Supply Management, procures equipment and instruments associated with process and control systems
Develops or adapts software for communication with instrumentation, controls, and databases
Develops I & C design knowledge and aptitude with the ability to complete designs of Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
Takes ownership of projects and manages results from cradle to grave with guidance from Engineering Manager
Able to work independently and with teams from other areas/departments
Able to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
Qualification
Required
B.S. Electrical Engineering or another closely related discipline
10+ years' experience with software for control and/or communication, such as Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, or SQL
An ability to code in one or more common programming languages (e.g., C, C#, C++, Python, VBA, HTML) used in engineering practice
Ability to set up SQL databases to capture data streams from hundreds of sensors and assist process engineers in monitoring and control of process equipment
Must be able to lead a project team and maintain a project schedule
Be a self-starter, detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills
High level of personal energy; strong work ethic
Demonstrated safety-oriented mindset
Ability to communicate clearly in English
Preferred
Experience transitioning engineering processes into manufacturing
