Heart Aerospace is developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane. They are seeking a highly motivated Flight Systems Engineer to join their Mechanisms team, playing a crucial role in the system-level design, debugging, and certification of distributed systems across the aircraft.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of essential systems by collaborating cross-functionally with flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety engineers
Lead in-vehicle debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system-level issues, across electrical, mechanical and software systems. Work across multiple teams to find and efficient solution
Support bring-up and maintenance of prototype aircraft, integration test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and virtual simulation platforms
Create and execute system-level integration plans for a complete system or subsystem
Contribute to the software verification and validation strategy in accordance with DO-178C objectives

Required

3+ years of experience in system integration, ideally in the aerospace or automotive domain
Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, …), and system-level integration practices
Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, or Python for automation and testing
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and integration frameworks
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

Preferred

Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, DO-331, or other safety-critical standards
Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry
