Responsibilities
Generate new client relationships and maintain a substantial portfolio of strategic communication engagements
Build and sustain long-term client partnerships that produce significant recurring revenue
Identify and pursue business opportunities through relationship building and thought leadership
Lead strategic communication engagements for Fortune 500 companies facing complex organizational challenges
Develop comprehensive communication strategies for organizational change, mergers & acquisitions, leadership transitions, and crisis scenarios
Create leadership messaging frameworks that translate business strategy into clear, actionable communication
Design and execute Board-level communication strategies and high-visibility stakeholder engagement
Provide communication-focused executive coaching to senior leaders to enhance their organizational impact
Recruit, hire, and develop strategic communication consultants through CRA's proven apprentice program
Collaborate with other Managing Directors on large, multi-disciplinary client engagements
Contribute to the firm's intellectual capital through thought leadership, case studies, and proprietary methodologies
Qualification
Required
Established track record of client generation and business development in strategic communications
Current book of business or proven ability to build substantial client portfolios generating significant revenue
10+ years of strategic communications experience serving senior executive audiences
Deep expertise in organizational communication challenges - change management, crisis response, leadership transitions
Understanding of complex corporate and organizational context with ability to translate strategy into communication
Credible in front of C-suite executives and Board members across industries
Experience building and leading high-performing teams in consulting or professional services
Genuine relationship skills with ability to develop trust-based partnerships with clients and colleagues
Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated success networking and generating business at all levels
High integrity, collegial and adaptive orientation with range of communication style
Sharp evaluative eye for what drives business results through strategic communication
