Responsibilities
Actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process
Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist
Responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure
Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist
Constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field
Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
Requires emergency on-call duties
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree - required
Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program - required
Graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program. - required
1-3 years in the cardiovascular specialty. - required
Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation
Able to anticipate and prepare for the necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra procedure
Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures
RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Upon Hire - required
ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support Upon Hire - required
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire - required
ACLS Upon Hire - required
