FOIA Analyst

Infotrend Inc is seeking a FOIA Analyst to join their Information Technology team. The role involves processing FOIA requests, preparing documentation, and supporting agency litigation efforts while ensuring compliance with FOIA protocols.

Responsibilities

Provides FOIA/PA review and process pending FOIA cases
Scans FOIA support documents related to cases assigned into the FOIA database
Prepares documentation for, and draft responses to, FOIA/PA requests, coordinating proposed disclosures of information for several entities within the agency
Processes submitter notices associated with specific FOIA cases and provide initial analysis of submitter objections
Redacts documents in accordance with agency/entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on records
Processes draft responses to submitters of objections to release of information in records and generate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determination
Maintains complete and detailed case notes on all assigned cases
Supports agency litigation efforts, in coordination with the office of disclosure, by crafting Vaughn indices, declarations, affidavits, answers to complaints, and supplemental releases

Required

At least one (1) year of experience processing FOIA requests. This experience may be substituted with a law degree (i.e., Juris Doctor degree)
1-3 Years of Experience
Knowledge and familiarity with e-Discovery software tools such as NUIX, Ringtail, FOIAXpress, Relativity, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong attention to detail, organization skills and ability to meet deadlines efficiently
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects in a high-pressure environment
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain national security eligibility
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred

Prior FOIA work experience at a Federal agency or contractor preferred
Takes initiative and is a self-starter
Can process 800-1,000 pages a day. This is a productivity measure
Willing to work for the Executive Office of the President
