ED Research Assistant
Upstate Medical University is seeking a part-time Clinical Research Assistant in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The role involves assisting in the execution of clinical studies, interacting with patients and clinical staff, and maintaining research records while adhering to approved protocols.

Responsibilities
Assist in the execution of clinical studies in accordance with approved protocols
Interact with patients, families and clinical staff
Maintain records of clinical research
Collect/process specimens as indicated by study protocols
Identify, screen, consent, patients in accordance with study protocols
Administer surveys and follow-up with study participants
Adhere to IRB approved protocols, comply with Institutional policies, SOP guidelines, and federal, state, and sponsor policies
Collect/transport samples from patients as needed/indicated by the research protocol
Collect required data, code and enter onto clinical research forms or into computerized database
Maintain accurate and timely research records while upholding patient confidentiality, according to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance
Perform other administrative and research duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree or equivalent with relevant experience required
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare setting, either clinical or research preferred
Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health care field preferred
