Responsibilities

Ensures the timely and accurate payment of a high volume of invoices and maintains accounts payable system: accurately entering, coding and processing invoices
Lead agency’s efforts to obtain competitive pricing for its supplies, equipment, insurance, consulting services and other OTPS items
Ensures expenses are allocated to the correct GL expense account, cost center and approved program budget
Plan, organize, and coordinate staff training of the expense management system
Communicates with staff and outside vendors to timely resolve any accounts payable related matters
Leads the Agency’s BIPOCs procurement strategic objectives
Performs month-end AP sub-ledger reconciliation and assists during program audits and annual Agency audit
Monitors program budgets regularly to ensure expenditures are within approved budgets
Prepares annual overhead expense projections
Prepares monthly AP reports and participates in meetings when necessary
Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate Accounts Payable Specialist
Demonstrates commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Accounting DegreeBookkeeping ExperienceBlackbaud Financial Edge NXTFund Accounting KnowledgeExcel ProficiencyProblem SolvingDetail OrientedInterpersonal SkillsCommunicationOrganizational Skills

Required

Bachelor's + combination of work exp
Strong Bookkeeping and Accounting experience in the nonprofit sector
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in the use of Excel
A team player, strong verbal and written communication skills
Well organized and detail-oriented; able to meet deadlines

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
Experience with the Accounting Information System; Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, is a plus
Knowledge of Fund Accounting preferred
Familiarity with government funding agencies and private founders
