Responsibilities

Identify and pursue prospects primarily in various corporate, association, and life sciences meeting, event, and incentive segments
Ensure a meaningful “close” ratio by effectively pursuing new business opportunities
Foster long term relationships with key prospects
Facilitate mutually beneficial and balanced client contract negotiations
Successfully offer a comprehensive range of our services tailored to clients’ needs, including meeting planning and logistics, sourcing, marketing, IT, and financial management
Collaborate with account executives and the operations team to determine staff assignments for prospective clients
Work with senior leadership to develop a prospecting business development strategy aligned with company objectives
Utilize CRM (HubSpot) to track efforts, plan activities and forecast revenue
Collaborate closely with account management and operations to ensure SOWs and pricing accurately reflect client needs and project scope
Customize presentations and RFP responses to meet with specific needs and requirements of prospects
Demonstrate creativity and offer innovative ideas and solutions to improve win rates
Operate with a sense of urgency and uphold the highest ethical standards

Required

Must have meaningful business development experience (5+ years) in the meeting and event, association, life science and incentive spaces
Demonstrated excellence in sales and relationship building
Strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service and communications
Capable of strategic and tactical thinking, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
Skilled in cultivating both internal and external relationships
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to work collaboratively and solve problems
Ability to travel at least 30% throughout the year
Requires flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings and weekends to meet client, event, or company needs
Must be able to remain either in a stationary sitting position for extended periods (such as when working in the office), while also being able to stand and/or move for extended periods (such as when executing events onsite)
Need to lift, carry, push, or drag boxes or equipment up to 30 lbs
Frequently moves inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
Need to adapt and function in various physical settings (for example, conference centers, indoor and outdoor spaces)
Occasionally required to position self in a stooping, kneeling, or crouching manner
Frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Frequently computers and other electronic equipment

Preferred

Experience utilizing a CRM; HubSpot preferred
Proficiency in PowerPoint for customized presentations
