New Grad, Entry LevelMadrid CFTL is a growing civil and geotechnical firm offering drilling services, construction materials testing, and laboratory analysis. The Staff Geotechnical Engineer will support project managers and senior engineers on various projects, blending technical fieldwork with analytical problem-solving and reporting.
Responsibilities
Perform field and laboratory testing of soil, rock, and water samples
Monitor and coordinate geotechnical drilling activities, including utility clearances, site access, and traffic control
Prepare detailed boring logs, field reports, and documentation
Assist with AutoCAD drafting, lab analysis, and geotechnical design support
Contribute to technical reports including foundation recommendations, bearing capacity analysis, settlement modeling, and retaining wall evaluations
Support proposal writing and marketing initiatives
Work on a wide range of civil infrastructure projects—every day is different
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Self-starter with attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset
No prior experience required—just a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred
Master's in Geotechnical Engineering
EI/EIT certification preferred or willingness to obtain
AutoCAD experience is a plus
Clean driving record preferred (company vehicle use may be required)
