Responsibilities
Inspect stone and ring assembly for proper preparation and fit
Place stones in settings using tweezers or other precision tools, and secure them by pressing prongs, applying cement, or using other methods
Use hand tools to tighten bezels or prongs to stone and close small gaps
Choose appropriate tools and methods for setting each stone, such as prong, bezel, or pave settings
Make minor adjustments to setting when necessary
Determine the need and use of appropriate adhesive where necessary
Emery bezel or prong with hand tools when necessary to remove marks from setting operation
Ensure that all stones are securely set and meet quality standards
Keep the work area and tools clean and well-maintained
Qualification
Required
Entry-level experience
Ability to work with small, delicate items with precision
Good hand-eye coordination and steady hands for handling tiny stones and tools
Ability to perform tasks that may require sitting or standing for long periods
High School diploma from an accredited institution
Preferred
Previous experience in similar setting
Experience with various stone setting tools and techniques
Knowledge of tools involved in the successful operation of this function
