Transportation Engineer I - Traffic
The Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Engineer I in the Traffic Track as part of the State Highway Administration. This entry-level position involves assisting in traffic-related functions, including project goal achievement, design evaluation, and traffic engineering analysis.

Responsibilities
Assisting in traffic-related functions which could include the following: meeting project goals, developing alternatives, attending public meetings, evaluating design criteria against project constraints, performing constructability reviews, reviewing and designing roadway plans, performing construction inspection for proposed roadway improvement projects, providing traffic/travel demand information, and conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, transportation, or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university
None required for experience
Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements
Applicants within ten (10) months of meeting the minimum qualifications for the position may apply
You must submit the following documents with your electronic DTS-1 (application): Your resume (DTS – 1), Copy of your driver's license, Copy of your transcript, Foreign education evaluation (if degree was earned from foreign university)
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
