Senior Quality Inspector

Global Power Components is a privately held manufacturer specializing in heavy gauge steel fuel tanks and electrical distribution equipment. They are seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector who will conduct inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies, ensure compliance with specifications, and collaborate with various departments to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications
Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained
Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure progress and meet production and shipping timelines
Identify and escalate quality issues that may impact delivery or product performance
Maintain visibility of product status throughout the QC and production process
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
Participate in corrective actions for non-conformances and recurring defects
Support training efforts and ensure staff are informed of current quality standards and procedures
Participate in audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist in updating SOPs, training materials, and inspection protocols as needed

Qualification

Quality control experienceMechanical aptitudeBlueprint readingWeld inspection knowledgeERP systems experienceCommunicationProblem-solving skills

Required

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and customer-supplied manuals
The ability to read and interpret measurements using rulers, calipers, and other precision tools
Skills in MS Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to write clear and effective corrective actions and follow through on resolution

Preferred

Experience in power generation, diesel systems, or enclosure manufacturing
Weld knowledge is preferred, especially weld inspection
Demonstrated experience with Pareto charts, defect tracking, and process improvement initiatives
