This entry-level position involves performing engineering duties to support project development and highway infrastructure, including materials testing and condition assessments under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering duties in support of project development, highway infrastructure, asset management, construction projects and condition assessments

Conduct materials certification reviews, materials QA/QC testing/evaluation in the laboratory and field

Utilize materials test results in pavement/geotechnical design

Perform hands-on forensic evaluations of structures and prepare inspection reports

Make repair recommendations under the direction of an experienced engineer

Communicate with contractors, engineers, and OMT personnel as needed

Review, understand and explain project documents, specifications, and drawings to contractors effectively

Attend pre-construction and progressive meetings and act as a liaison between District, OMT, and contractors

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering, civil engineering, or environmental engineering from an accredited college or university
