Civil Project Engineer
Henderson Inc. is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer with a strong interest in civil construction. This role will support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent through effective communication and documentation management, while taking on various responsibilities related to project scheduling, coordination, and quality control.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the project schedule with the help of the Superintendent and Project Manager
Assist Project Manager in the developing sub-contractor scopes of work
Documentation of the project correspondence for historical items
Review monthly job cost updates with project team
Produce, distribute and manage project RFI’s
Development of project deficiency log throughout the project and provide weekly updates to the team
Collect PCO pricing from sub-contractors and generate PCO’s for Project Manager review
Develop a submittal log for assigned project and have it approved by the A/E
Acquire all submittals from subcontractors, per the developed submittal log
Review submittals (With assistance from Project Manager and Superintendent) ensure they conform with project specification and drawings
Assist the Project Manager in the approval of submittals and pass them along to A/E for owner approval
Review project closeout requirements per project specifications and A/E requirements
Procure and acquire project closeout documentation per approved closeout log
Use Bluebeam efficiently and effectively as a tool for reviewing, editing, and marking up drawings and pdf documents
Keep project As-Built documents up to date
Assist with franchise utility coordination as needed
The Project Engineer is a form and method of Quality Control, and should be consistently checking sub materials, fixtures, & equipment to make sure they conform with specs & drawings
Attend Project Coordination Meeting, take meeting notes, update meeting minutes and ensure distribution within 48 hours after meeting
Help develop and maintain project punch list with information provided by Superintendent and distribute to the project team
Help ensure a safe project site
Ability to complete computer-based training (CBT) modules as part of ongoing job requirements
Other duties as directed and assigned
Qualification
Required
OSHA 30 (or willing to obtain)
First Aid / CPR / AED Certified (or willing to obtain)
Bluebeam, Raken and Procore Software knowledge
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project knowledge
Understanding of civil grades
Must be a team player and dependable
Takes initiative and sets positive example
Open to others ideas and feedback
Motivates others and recognizes their accomplishments
Prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
Manages resources to meet budget
Schedule management
Understands and manages clients and organizations expectations
Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk
Regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers, to reach, handle and/or feel
Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day, including while using a computer or performing administrative or training-related tasks
Must be physically flexible
Specific vision abilities required by this position include peripheral vision and depth perception
Regularly required to work under stressful conditions, all types of outdoor weather, and varying terrain
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a clean driving record
