HAAS CNC Programmer and Operator
NRP Jones is seeking a skilled and collaborative HAAS CNC Programmer and Operator to join our CNC Manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts while maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical blueprints, design models, and specifications to determine programming and machining requirements
Program HAAS CNC machines using G&M Codes, Macro Programming and other assorted programming methods. The ability to program in live tooling and sub spindle is essential
Set up HAAS CNC mills and lathes, including loading raw materials, selecting and installing appropriate cutting tools, and adjusting machine settings to meet product specifications
Operate HAAS CNC equipment to machine parts to completion, monitoring processes for quality and efficiency
Perform in-process inspections and quality control checks using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T compliance
Load and unload bars, materials, and finished parts, assisting machine operators and other team members as needed to maintain workflow
Troubleshoot machine issues, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime
Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, and colleagues to address concerns, resolve assembly or production problems, and contribute to team initiatives
Ability to order, manage, and source CNC indexable tooling, working with outside vendors, sales representatives and application engineers to troubleshoot tooling needs and solutions
Mitsubishi EDM knowledge is a plus
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment (e.g., face shields, gloves)
Document production activities, including completing quality forms, tracking inventory, and reporting any delays or issues to the supervisor
Actively engage in interdepartmental collaboration, exhibiting a positive attitude and supporting a respectful, inclusive environment for all team members
Assist in training new staff on machine operation and safety procedures as required
Conserve resources by efficiently using equipment, tools, and supplies to achieve job results
Qualification
Required
Proven experience (3-5 years preferred) as a CNC Programmer and Operator, with specific hands-on expertise in HAAS CNC mills and lathes
Proficiency in G & M coding with HAAS controls
Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials (including various metals), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and drawings
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues under tight time constraints
Strong attention to detail, deftness, and commitment to producing high-quality work that meets or exceeds customer expectations
Proficient in basic math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry) and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a focus on fostering company cohesion
Self-motivated with good judgment, productivity, and a solid safety record
Willingness to work overtime as needed and grow skills through ongoing training
High School Diploma or GED required
3-5 years of progressive experience in CNC machining; portfolio or references welcomed
Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours or more) and perform repetitive tasks
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting up to 75 pounds
Frequent use of hands for handling tools and controls; ability to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb as needed
Must comply with safety standards and wear required protective gear
Preferred
Mitsubishi EDM knowledge is a plus
