Responsibilities
Design of experiments management on mechanical properties development associated with process modifications
Microstructural characterization of hot rolled products
Recovery % reduction via process optimization
Quality monitoring of rolled products to meet downstream stakeholder & customer tolerances and specifications
Metal quality processing development for sampling frequency and evaluation (process control)
Inter-department collaboration on material workflow and status
Information sharing via report-outs and production summaries
Ingot scalping (surface preparation)
Industrial preheating furnaces (homogenization)
Hot rolling mills (metal processing)
Qualification
Required
Educational background in metallurgical crystallography and associated strengthening mechanisms
Commitment to safe workplace practices and use of designated PPE
Familiar with project based structures and deadlines
Works well in a fast paced environment
Willing to learn new skills and work in a team environment
Preferred
Exposure to lab and industrial environments is a plus
Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite, CAD or SQL knowledge are a plus
