Responsibilities
Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluid analyses, following standard operating procedures
Collect, label, and process patient samples in accordance with established protocols
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
Analyze test results and communicate findings promptly to the appropriate medical staff
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory tests and equipment
Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including test results and quality control measures
Adhere to infection control and safety regulations at all times
Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation
Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and practices
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from an accredited body (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests and recording results
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred
Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required
