Responsibilities
Performs basic design tasks with oversight
Prepares quantity calculations
Prepares structural calculations with oversight
Edits boilerplate special provisions
Develops contract plans and cost estimates with oversight
Works on structural design teams performing simple tasks with oversight
Basic understanding of scope, schedules, and budgets for simple tasks
Performs requested tasks with oversight
Seeks oversight before external communications
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
EIT/EI required (within 6 months of hire)
Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver's license is required to support legitimate business purposes
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) - Basic
Market Sector Software (MathCAD, AutoCAD or MicroStation) - Basic
Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals
Performs basic design tasks with oversight
Basic understanding of technical writing skills
Clear internal communications (emails, meeting minutes, etc.)
Works on structural design teams performing simple tasks with oversight
Prepares quantity calculations
Prepares structural calculations with oversight
Edits boilerplate special provisions
Develops contract plans and cost estimates with oversight
Basic understanding of scope, schedules, and budgets for simple tasks (i.e., identify when things are taking longer than planned)
Basic understanding of standard design codes (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, etc.)
Performs requested tasks with oversight
Seeks oversight before external communications
Performs basic levels of technical work on projects in support of more experienced staff within the market sector
Operates with minimal autonomy - work is closely supervised by more senior staff
