Lead Receptionist

Bournewood Health Systems is seeking a Lead Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and staff. This role involves overseeing the receptionist team, ensuring excellent customer service, and providing administrative support to the Admissions Department.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients, families, visitors, and staff in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner
Serve as the primary contact for front desk operations, ensuring quality customer service and timely response to inquiries
Supervise daily activities of reception staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and providing guidance or coaching as needed
Maintain the receptionist schedule to ensure consistent coverage for all shifts
Provide administrative support to the Admissions Department, including data entry, document preparation, filing, and phone support
Assist in coordinating communication between Admissions, clinical staff, and other departments as directed by the Manager of Admissions
Take initiative in identifying and resolving front desk operational issues, escalating matters when appropriate
Ensure compliance with all facility policies, procedures, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality standards
Monitor and control building access by verifying the identity of all individuals before unlocking entry doors, ensuring the safety and security of staff and patients
May provide backup coverage for the Executive Assistant as needed, including managing calls, scheduling, and handling administrative tasks for executive team
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
Minimum of 2–3 years of receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience; healthcare setting preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to oversee staff scheduling and provide direction
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Professional demeanor with ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

healthcare setting preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
