Senior Inspector
WSP is a leading engineering and professional services firm in the U.S. seeking a Senior Inspector to join their Construction Management Team in Glastonbury, Connecticut. The role involves providing inspection services for various construction operations, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Provide inspection services for various construction operations
Perform calculations for quantity payment items used in preparation of contract payments
Prepare daily work reports and assist other team members in inspection and report preparation
Participate in field meetings and ensure the contractor field staff are conforming to all health and safety standards
Assist office staff with checking contractor payrolls and other submissions
Address any field concerns which arise from the field with the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer
Work with the Contractor to minimize disruptions to the public
Pro-actively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and discuss with Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer how to resolve conflicts and recommend improvements
Keep the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer informed on all contract discrepancies and differing field conditions
Be actively involved with MPT detour setups and maintenance to minimize any potential concerns from the public
Identify potential scheduling impacts and elevate concerns to Resident Engineer
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Minimum 9 years of construction inspection experience working on highways, bridges, storm and sanitary sewers, water mains and street restoration
Strong oral and written communication skills of technical documents
Working knowledge of SiteManager, MURK, Office Suite particularly Word and Excel
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
NICET III or acceptable equivalent ASCE grade
Specific experience with CTDOT construction projects that include highways, bridges, rail, and other transportation related type projects
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
