Water Rights Engineer
Moore Engineering, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned company dedicated to providing critical engineering services to communities around the region. As a Water Rights Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing infrastructure systems related to the distribution and treatment of water, while also reviewing and analyzing Colorado Water Court decrees and conducting fieldwork related to streamflow measurements.

Responsibilities
Review and analyze Colorado Water Court decrees
Estimate historical crop consumptive use
Estimate lagged depletions and accretions to river systems
Estimate in-priority water for surface or groundwater diversions, stream basin hydrologic analyses, and occasional fieldwork related to streamflow measurements
Evaluate diversion sites
Evaluate reservoir sites
Provide deep-well drilling observation
Collect generalized field data
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, hydrology, or geology (Engineering preferred)
3—5 years' experience in water rights consulting
In depth KNOWLEDGE OF COLORADO WATER LAW
Experience supporting water lawyers in Colorado Water Court proceedings
Fieldwork experience in streamflow measurement and drilling observation
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Excel and database applications
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Suites
Preferred
Municipal deep well drilling observation preferred
Datalogger and transducer programming and deployment preferred
MODFLOW modeling preferred
