Postdoctoral Scientist - Guerin Children's - Rowitch Lab - Pediatrics & Neurosurgery

The role involves conducting research on glial developmental biology and human diseases, performing laboratory procedures, analyzing data, and contributing to publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

May assist in the preparation of grant proposals, but is not responsible for generating grant funds
May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author
Design and perform experiments. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator
May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols
Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile data
Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period
Operate and maintain equipment and instruments
May observe MD-patient or MD-human research subject interactions as it pertains directly to research being performed

Required

PhD in a relevant field such as biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline
Experience in laboratory research and techniques
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience in preparing grant proposals
Experience in publishing research findings

Preferred

Experience with glial developmental biology
Familiarity with human diseases such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and brain cancer
Experience in developing and implementing new research techniques and protocols
