Responsibilities

Knowledge of major substation equipment and its functions
Ability to select and specify substation equipment
Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards
Knowledge of electrical calculations required for substation design
Knowledge of the types of drawings required for constructing an electrical substation
Development of physical electrical design submittals
Preparation of equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations
Coordination with clients and internal project management teams
Mentorship of less experienced engineers and designers
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Understanding and adherence to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Development of engineering cost estimates for proposals

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license
5-10 years of physical electrical design experience in substations
2+ years leading clients and other engineers
Knowledge of major substation equipment and its functions
Ability to select and specify substation equipment
Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards
Knowledge of electrical calculations required for substation design
Knowledge of the types of drawings required for constructing an electrical substation
Development of physical electrical design submittals
Preparation of equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations
Coordination with clients and internal project management teams
