Lenoir-Rhyne University’s College of Education & Human Services is seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach American Sign Language I and II courses starting January 2025. The role involves delivering instruction in both face-to-face and online formats, with a focus on achieving student learning through inclusive teaching methods.

Conduct assigned courses of instruction in the best manner possible to achieve student learning
Present ideas in ways that are appropriate for a variety of learners and that show sensitivity to an inclusive student population
Display a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship and collaborative work
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a master's degree in ASL or a related field or a bachelor's degree and national certification in sign language interpreting
Evidence of post-secondary teaching experience or delivery of professional training
Ability to conduct assigned courses of instruction in a manner that achieves student learning
Presentation of ideas in ways that are appropriate for a variety of learners and show sensitivity to an inclusive student population
Commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, and collaborative work
Preferred
Evidence of post-secondary teaching experience or delivery of professional training is highly preferred
Experience delivering content via online modalities is preferred
