Quality Engineer
IronMountain Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer supporting an upcoming Long Range Standoff Weapon (LRSO) effort in Huntsville, AL. The Quality Engineer will oversee quality control processes throughout the product lifecycle, implement best practices, and ensure that products meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities
Conduct acquisition planning and development by reviewing current LRSO contract language to ensure quality management is addressed. Evaluate and ensure contractors follow accepted quality standards (ISO 9000, AS9100, and CMMI)
Ensure Quality of Design (Engineering Analysis) of all Sensors & Dev/Mods Products by participating in all Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews and provide guidance to the contractor to fix any noted shortcomings
Participate in Qualification Testing of products and material during the design and production phase of the program by: Assuring proper engineering requirements/flow down, assuring that engineering requirements are understood/tested, and analyzing data for Determination of Design Margins and providing input, as required
Conduct Special Test and Inspection Equipment Management by participating in Validation & Control of Sensors & Dev/Mods hardware/software by conducting: Functional and Physical Configuration Audits, Software Source Code Verifications, Fault insertions and isolations, and Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) Analyses
Conduct Production Line Validation/Qualification through: Process Control Analyses (Statistical Techniques), Process Capability Analyses (Lean/6 Sigma), and Mapping Factory Test and Inspection to Process Capabilities
Participate in Production Testing (First Article/QV) by assuring Proper Engineering Requirement Flow-down to Test Points; Designing, Developing, and monitoring First Article Testing; and Developing and Validating Factory Acceptance Testing Processes (ATPs). ATPs include Critical Process and parameter identification and Mapping, mandatory Test/Inspection Point Identification, Statistical Process Capability Analysis, Test Equipment Validation, and Developing Sampling Plans (Quality Risk Trades)
Develop Quality Metrics and track/analyze contractor performance against those metrics. This includes being a Key Corrective Action Board (CAB) Participant, Key Participant in Contractor’s Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) Process, Assess/Analyze Contractor’s CAB and RCCA Process, Metric Trend Analysis (statistical) and Reporting, Program Quality Health Evaluation and Reporting, and Program Quality Risk Evaluation and Reporting
Conduct Materiel Release functions to include Assure Quality Hardware is delivered to the Warfighter, fully support Unconditional, Conditional & Urgent Releases, assure all Engineering actions are closed, ensure all Qualification Tests are complete, assure all Waivers/Deviations have been analyzed, properly mitigated and do not affect “qualified baseline.”
Provide recommendations, findings, and decisions to program PM and senior management in the accomplishment of various Program objectives
Keep PM informed of technical status of assigned tasks, program status, significant program events, controversial issues, program reviews, and other relevant issues
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) is required and at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience associated with production & quality control of technical items related to aviation systems
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and other quality management systems (QMS) and standards within the hardware manufacturing industry such as: ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 27000, ISO 31000, ITIL and other industry-specific certifications
Strong analytical skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making and root cause analysis ensuring that products and services are meeting the quality guidelines through regular assessment
Proven ability to work within a diverse team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for continuous improvement including creation of training guidelines for individuals completing manufacturing processes
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, hardware testing methods, tools for product inspection, and review of objective evidence of conformance
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality improvement including the development of new quality assurance procedures as required
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required
