The Behavioral Health Technician Lead is responsible for supervising clients and BHTs during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to protocols, and providing support to the Program Director/BHT Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

Supervises Behavioral Health Technicians and provides performance feedback

Orients and trains new staff to the unit and program

Assists in interviewing and hiring BHTs

Communicates with staff through verbal and written logs

Assists with employee disciplinary actions and develops employee schedules

Conducts employee performance evaluations

Assists with client interventions and item confiscation

Listens to clients and BHTs concerning treatment areas

Coordinates activities including lectures, recreation, and meetings with Lead BHTs

Follows treatment plan objectives and maintains a therapeutic environment

Evaluates the behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides input

Attends necessary trainings and schedules BHTs for training sessions

Attends facility meetings and coordinates BHT department meetings

Performs clerical duties as needed and other duties as deemed necessary
