Responsibilities
Provide senior-level technical guidance on all aspects of transmission line engineering, including line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, and material specifications
Support project delivery through constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination, and construction support
Develop and finalize PLS-CADD criteria and models to ensure design accuracy and compliance
Lead and participate in client-facing meetings, including stakeholder sessions and design reviews
Mentor and train engineering staff, sharing technical expertise and supporting professional development
Contribute to internal design reviews and provide input on special or complex design challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
Professional Engineer license (required)
8+ years of experience in transmission line engineering within the electric utility industry
Proficiency in PLS-CADD for transmission line design (required)
Strong knowledge of industry standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI
Experience collaborating with substation, environmental, right-of-way, construction, and maintenance teams
Solid understanding of engineering principles, with the ability to research issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations
Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
Strong ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and with utility stakeholders
Commitment to working safely and in compliance with regulations
Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements
