Responsibilities

Gain hands-on experience in traffic engineering and municipal transportation projects
Contribute to solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and mobility in the communities
Focus on traffic engineering, including traffic studies, signal design, corridor modeling, traffic operations analysis, and development of traffic control and detour plans
Prepare CAD drawings, traffic models, technical reports, construction documents, and cost estimates
Gain field experience through data collection, traffic counts, and construction observation
Contribute to broader transportation and infrastructure projects, supporting roadway design, and multimodal transportation projects

Required

Graduated from an accredited engineering school
new graduate or early career Civil Engineer with 0-3 years of professional experience
Have passed or are scheduled to take fundamentals of engineering exam to obtain official Engineering Intern designation by the State of Iowa
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to communicate effectively, written and orally
Demonstrates an ability to be service oriented to existing and potential clients
Works effectively with other Engineers on multi-discipline teams
Manages time and workload effectively which includes planning, organization and prioritization with attention to detail

Preferred

Strong interest in traffic engineering
Practical, hands-on experience in Microstation/OpenRoads Design & AutoCAD Civil 3D software
Knowledge of traffic modeling software is a plus
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are paramount, along with a demonstrated commitment to client service
Previous internships or summer experiences in traffic or transportation civil engineering would be advantageous
