School Psychologist-OPA
Algiers Charter Schools Association is seeking a School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services that support students’ academic achievement and mental health. The role involves conducting evaluations, developing interventions, and collaborating with educators and families to promote student well-being and success.
Responsibilities
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine students’ cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
Interpret evaluation results and prepare written reports to support eligibility for special education and related services
Participate in the development, review, and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans
Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional issues
Design and support interventions to address learning difficulties and behavioral concerns
Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside providers to support student needs
Provide crisis intervention and support in emergency situations
Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote positive behavior, social skills, and safe learning environments
Stay current with best practices, ethical standards, and legal requirements related to school psychology
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Master's or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology required
Current state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
Knowledge of special education laws (IDEA, Section 504, ADA) and evaluation procedures
Strong skills in assessment, data interpretation, counseling, and consultation
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Experience working with culturally diverse populations and students with a wide range of needs
