Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of complex asbestos accounts
Timely claim management of new loss assignments and reassignment
Develop account strategy and manage mass tort litigation
Evaluate asbestos cases
Provide defense counsel and vendor oversight based upon an agreed litigation strategy
Identify appropriate cases for trial and complete pre-trial and trial activities
Understand coverage issues and make complex coverage decisions
Gather and analyze claim trend, billing and other claim and financial data
Qualification
Required
Asbestos claim handling or defense experience with demonstrated roles of increased responsibility
Analytical thinker, detailed-oriented and highly self-motivated with an interest in continued learning of complex claims and issues
In-depth knowledge of liability policy language and coverage interpretation
Ability to provide guidance, input and oversight to defense counsel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Work experience in a highly regulated environment and ability to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
College degree required
State licenses where required
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
J.D. preferred
Strong technical background desired with an emphasis on coverage issue identification and policy interpretation
Strong interaction and presentation skills desired
Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
