Responsibilities

Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring patients are safe, comfortable, and informed throughout their imaging exam
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort
Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images of the musculoskeletal system, adjusting and maintaining equipment to ensure proper operation
Ensure equipment is functioning properly, troubleshoot equipment issues, and report any malfunctions to the proper personnel
Follow established guidelines to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety
Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and regulatory requirements to minimize exposure to patients and staff
Review and evaluate images for clarity, density, and contrast, adjusting as necessary
Ensure images are of high diagnostic quality for interpretation
Follow physician-specific protocols when performing x-ray exams and communicate updates as needed
Accurately document and record patient information and imaging details in EPIC
Submit images to PACS and maintain radiation logs for the State of Wisconsin
Prepare imaging copies for patients, outside providers, attorneys, etc
Communicate effectively with immediate coworkers as well as those throughout the clinic
Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to ensure accurate interpretation of images
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the radiology room and equipment following infection control protocols
Operate C-Arm equipment in both aseptic and sterile environments when assigned
Other job duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Must have completed formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved (minimum 2 years) program or have an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field
Previous experience as an X-ray technologist, preferably in an orthopedic or hospital setting
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
Possess a valid, current, unrestricted Wisconsin state radiation operator certificate (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions)
Current CPR/AED certification
Proficient in operating X-ray equipment and related technology
Strong understanding of anatomy, particularly the musculoskeletal system
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to safely lift and position patients for imaging procedures
Possess a working knowledge of EPIC and PACS
