They are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist/Senior Associate Scientist to join their Assay Development team, focusing on developing and validating ultrasensitive immunoassays.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize ultrasensitive immunoassays to support Spear Bio’s product pipeline
Execute immunoassay workflows with a focus on high-throughput and semi-automated platforms
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges and improve assay performance
Optimize methods for processing different types of clinical samples for assay development
May serve as a technical lead for custom assay development projects and working directly with customers

Qualification

Required

BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline plus minimum of 2-3+ years in an academic or industry lab; or MS degree plus 1-2+ years of academic/industry lab experience
Direct experience running immunoassays is required for consideration
Experience characterizing and troubleshooting immunoassays
Strong proficiency in molecular biology lab techniques
Self-motivated, with ability to perform complex tasks in an effective manner
Ability to follow instructions, learn, and grow in a mentorship setting
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Desire to learn about and implement new technologies

Preferred

Hands-on experience utilizing ultrasensitive platforms like Simoa, MSD, Lumipulse, and/or homebrew platforms for novel immunoassay development preferred
Previous experience with customer assay development is a plus
