Student Loan Coordinator

Responsibilities
Serve as a point of contact for private loan inquiries and processing
Counsel students and families on private loan options, eligibility, application procedures, and repayment strategies
Coordinate with private lenders to certify loans, resolve issues, and ensure the timely disbursement of funds
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the student information system and loan processing platforms
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to private loans
Conduct financial literacy workshops and one-on-one sessions to educate students on responsible borrowing where required
Collaborate with the billing office, registrar, and other departments to resolve loan-related issues
Analyze loan data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
Stay current with changes in private loan products, lender policies, and industry best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Higher Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in student financial services, with a strong emphasis on private loan processing
Familiarity with federal and private loan certification platforms is a plus (e.g., ELMOne, ScholarNet) and student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft)
Strong understanding of federal and private loan regulations, lender requirements, and financial aid practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
