The role involves assisting with the structural design of water resource structures, evaluating existing structures, and preparing plans and specifications for construction.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the structural design of water resource structures and other structural engineering projects
Evaluating and analyzing existing structures
Preparing structural plans and specifications for bidding and construction
Preparing formatted structural calculation packages
Writing technical reports; and participating in site visits

Required

A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university or within nine months of hire
A valid driver's license and some travel will be required

Preferred

Structural engineering coursework including design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber
Structural analysis and design in-practice (work experience) including concrete, steel, masonry, and anchorage
Design, analysis, and construction methods of water retaining structures and retaining walls using reinforced concrete
Construction administration of structural systems including observations, RFIs, submittal review, and working collaboratively with contractors to develop solutions
Structural engineering software programs including finite element analysis, CAD, 3D modeling, and production programs (such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, SolidWorks, and Bluebeam Revu)
Structural engineering Codes and Standards
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Familiarity with in-house calculation tools including spreadsheets (MS Excel)
