Responsibilities

Perform carotid duplex, venous duplex, arterial duplex, aortoiliac duplex, penile duplex and renal duplex
Dictate preliminary reports for physicians
Consult with vascular medicine physician for interpretation of test results
Maintain records of testing for documentation
Provide daily account of patient's charge requisition with appropriate ICD9 codes
Provide training and act as a resource for vascular ultrasound students, residents and physicians
Provide testing for add-on emergency patients
Maintain continuing medical education requirements for the appropriate professional organization
Maintain files (e.g., product and service quotes), records and up-to-date documents for accreditation of vascular lab

Qualification

Registered Vascular TechnologistNon-invasive cardiovascular ultrasoundBasic Life Support (BLS)AnatomyPhysiologyExperience in vascular ultrasound

Required

Completion of an appropriate allied health program leading to a degree OR certificate in the application of non-invasive cardiovascular ultrasound techniques
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or other appropriate national certification OR registry eligible. (Must be completed within one year of hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced training in anatomy, physiology, biology, and physics
1-3 years of experience
