Research Assistant Intern
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a Research Assistant Intern for the Center for Business and Economic Insight. This role involves collecting data, creating reports, organizing presentations, and mentoring new research assistants.

Responsibilities
Creates a “calendar of tasks” in first week of the semester that lists the tasks and their timing for the semester
Updates release date schedules for different economic indicators
Maintains consistent work schedule based on above
Collects economic indicator data and organizes the data in tables using Excel
Responsible for formatting PowerPoint presentations for breakfast meetings
Updates and maintains the bulletin board outside the office with the latest blogs, reports, and columns from the CBEI
Proofread reports, articles, and blogs to check for errors before publication
Works closely with the publication designer on cover and formatting ideas for upcoming publications
Works with breakfast meeting sites, United Mailing Service, and Printing & Design in organizing events and publications and marketing
Mentors and trains new research assistants in second year
Create and implement new ideas that improve the CBEI
Qualification
Required
Requires a solid understanding of Excel and ability to format tables and record data
Strong understanding of PowerPoint and ability to format PowerPoint presentations
Excellent word processing skills using Windows Word
Requires strong organizational skills and can reliably complete tasks on a timely basis
Requires excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in interacting with CBEI chief analyst, CBEI publication designer, special report authors, and vendors
Must be a good team player and be willing and able to mentor and train new research assistants in their second year
Must be creative and innovative and willing to contribute new ideas that improve the quality of work performed at the CBEI, especially in the second year
