TVC - Justice Involved Veteran Program Manager (Program Specialist V)

Responsibilities

Represent the Texas Veterans Commission and Veterans Mental Health Department at conferences, meetings, and public events
Coordinate with other TVC programs to connect formerly incarcerated veterans with eligible services
Coordinate with federal, state, and local stakeholders to align accessible resources for veterans in need
Collaborate with internal programs within the Veterans Mental Health Department and across other TVC departments
Conduct and facilitate training, workshops, and meetings in-person or virtually
Develop and maintain partnerships with individuals, organizations, and community stakeholders
Prepare, review, and edit training materials, reports, and related documentation
Build and maintain a network of peers and professionals to exchange information and best practices related to veteran services
Participate in public outreach events, deliver presentations, and support veteran-focused seminars and initiatives
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned

Required

A bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice or other related field from an accredited institution
5 years related experience in the job duties listed above
A valid Texas Driver's License must be provided within 90 days of hire
College transcripts are required and must be provided before an interview can be extended
All applications must contain complete job histories, which includes job title, dates of employment, name of employer, supervisor's name and phone number, and a description of duties performed
To receive Military Employment preference, a copy of the DD Form 214 (member #1 not accepted), NA Form 13038, VA Summary Benefits Letter, or a DD form 1300 must be provided before an interview can be extended

Preferred

Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field
Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Texas as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist
Experience working with veterans, service members, and their families
Experience working with individuals within the criminal justice system
Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health concerns
Experience building and maintaining partnerships with federal, state, and local stakeholders
Military veteran status is strongly preferred
