Responsibilities

Receive administrative supervision with assignments given only in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Apply expert-level technical knowledge and experience to assignments. Maintain quality control and quality assurance of work produced by staff

Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients

Serve as senior technical consultant to individuals within and outside the organization

May plan, organize, and supervise work of staff/junior engineers or technicians

Drive the profitability and growth of projects

Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies, which require skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues

Create and analyze processes, systems and programs related to civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines

Make authoritative decisions and recommendations that have important impact on extensive engineering activities of the Company

Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering complexities, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities

Offer technical guidance, review progress and advise procedural changes as required

Coordinate the preparation or develop of engineering plans and specifications; coordinate required advertising for bids; review bids and make necessary recommendations based on bids, competency of vendors and consultants and the selection criteria

Oversee assigned projects to ensure compliance with time and budget parameters for the project

Review project development plans for compliance with codes, regulations and standards, adequacy of applications for permits, and compliance with approved plans

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required at time of employment

PE license required

Ten or more (10+) years of experience in the land development industry

Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Civil3D

Familiarity with reading construction plans
