Responsibilities

Lead the environmental permitting efforts for the successful design and construction of capital projects inclusive of processing facilities, pipelines, terminals and associated infrastructure
Coordinate internal resources and outside consultants who provide permitting services in accordance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), State Land Offices (SLOs), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) requirements
Assist with the development and execution of permitting strategies that keep all impacted internal and external stakeholders aligned on project goals and objectives while ensuring scheduling and budgeting goals are maintained
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (commercial, engineering, land, legal, corporate affairs, etc.) to inform critical permitting details. Must understand and communicate potential siting / constructability concerns, how permit constraints can affect construction (and operations) and be able to provide pertinent updates during project meetings
Manage the successful implementation and completion of environmental compliance and reporting efforts associated with project construction activities
Communicate and coordinate project and permitting specifics with the appropriate regulatory officials, as directed
Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special projects may be assigned

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related degrees. Other degrees will be considered if combined with experience in environmental permitting and compliance in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance with demonstrable increase in responsibility and independence
Minimum of 8 years of experience in direct management of permitting resources/contractors within a project execution environment
Experience with midstream/pipelines/facilities and major capital project development
Experience with federal agencies (e.g BLM, NPS, USACE, USFS, USFWS, BIA, FERC), their regulations and the resources they manage
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations (e.g. CWA, ESA, NHPA, MBTA, NPDES, and NEPA)
Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements and translate regulations, permit conditions, and plan requirements into compliance guidance
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Must be able to work efficiently, both independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary project team structure
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Ability to champion a culture of accountability within the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of objectives
Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 30% travel possible at times)
Proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, and follow company policies
Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work
Sitting; standing; walking or moving throughout the facility; driving; talking; seeing (specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus); hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting to 25 lbs
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Preferred

Experience working with Indigenous communities is a plus
Experience supporting FERC-regulated projects is highly desirable
