Responsibilities
Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
Take complete ownership of each project, including management of technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives
Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates
Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
Continually improve and maximize team quality and efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation design
Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT)
Professional Engineer License (PE)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives
Ability to lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
Experience in developing and reviewing project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates
Experience in performing Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
Experience in leading conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations
Preferred
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
Master's degree in related field
Experience leading a project team
