Responsibilities

Serve as a primary accounting contact for Senior Housing operators, ensuring timely, accurate reporting while building strong working relationships
Provide operators with guidance on accounting and reporting standards
Review and validate operator financial submissions for accuracy and compliance with internal policies and GAAP
Perform variance and trend analyses to identify discrepancies or unusual activity, coordinating resolution with operators
Prepare and record journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and review bank reconciliations
Ensure adherence to internal control processes and procedures
Develop and maintain standardized templates, tools, and review procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Work with internal teams such as Accounting, FP&A, Asset Management, and IT to ensure alignment on reporting standards, data accuracy, and system maintenance
Assist with defined projects and initiatives aligned with department goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
2+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficient in Excel (lookups, data cleaning, PivotTables)
Strong analytical skills, well-organized, and an effective communicator
Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and a proactive mindset
Takes ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work
Intellectually curious and eager to learn and contribute
Must be located in Louisville, KY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment
Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred

CPA license or active pursuit
SOX experience
Yardi experience
