Responsibilities

Supporting and collaborating with the head of Trust & Estates and collaborating with client-facing Partners, their clients and prospects to outline specific, actionable estate plans. This would include:
Supporting the head of Trust & Estates to manage an existing book of complex trusts and estates, while continuing to grow the business
Helping client-facing Partners to win business by providing estate planning services during the prospect stage
Reviewing existing estate planning documents of identified clients and prospects and summarizing same
Quarterbacking referrals of clients implementing estate plans to outside legal counsel for preparation of planning documents and working to execute the agreed upon plan
Review and quality control of estate planning documents prepared by outside legal counsel prior to client execution
Ongoing dialogue with clients on trust and estate planning issues to address issues as circumstances and laws change
Participation in quarterly client board meetings and taking Minutes
Responding to internal questions about trust and estate planning and administration issues as they arise
Act as a resource and expert for one-off questions or scoping unique projects

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, marketing, or a related field
5 – 10 years of experience in managing complex trust and estate relationships
Paralegal experience required at a minimum
Strong background in trust and estate administration and knowledge in tax is required
Knowledge (and practice) in the areas of complex trust administration and management, estate planning (all types of trusts, including revocable trusts, powers of attorney, medical directives, GRATs, CLATs, CRUTs, ILITs, dynasty trusts, gift arrangement etc.)
Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, professional presentation, and organizational skills, and strong reading comprehension skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates ability to stay abreast of ever-changing estate and trust tax laws
