Sr. Staff Engineer - Adv. Propulsion Systems Architect

GE Aerospace is advancing aviation technologies for today and tomorrow. They are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead Advanced Engine Systems Integration, focusing on system-level design, integration, and validation of next generation propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

Lead systems integration and requirement flowdown across preliminary design, engine performance, operability, controls, and transient analysis. (SPOCT)
Ownership of technology plans utilizing thermodynamic cycle models and advanced control strategies
Integrate cross functional design teams to solve complex challenges enabling next generation propulsion system architectures
Align thermodynamic cycle models and FADEC control software with system-level requirements
Develop forward-looking strategies for platform competitiveness and technology insertion
Ensure engine and rig test plans support technology maturation and risk mitigation
Drive validation and verification activities for full engine systems
Manage interfaces between design, systems, and execution teams
Contribute to strategy and policy development within your area of responsibility
Mentor junior engineers and serve as a resource for best practices and quality standards
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 6 years of experience in aerothermal or systems integration
Minimum of 6 years of experience in aerospace or a related industry
U.S. citizenship required due to the need for government security clearance

Preferred

Master's degree in Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in turbomachinery design and development
Exposure to engine design, aerodynamics, acoustics, and certification processes
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
Experience working with global, cross-functional teams
Passion for mentorship and continuous learning
