Product Cost Controller - TRATON R&D US, LLC

The Product Cost Controller will manage and guide product cost structures throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cost objectives are met.

Responsibilities
Develop and manage product costs for all product changes by consolidating current cost data with new design and assembly processes
Build and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) from early concept stages to final product release
Define and develop target costs, product costs, and tooling estimates
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Teams, Purchasing, Finance, and more to align cost objectives
Package design concepts, cost definitions, and relevant data for target setting and cost tracking purposes
Present accurate, timely, and consistent cost data to support effective decision-making
Maintain product profitability by identifying cost drivers and recommending corrective actions
Represent cost control interests on Program Teams to ensure target costs are achieved
Conduct product cost calculations throughout the lifecycle, consolidating data across TRATON brands
Prepare and distribute executive-level cost reports and participate in high-level reviews
Define costing structures to support major decision milestones, reviews, and approvals
Challenge and monitor product costs for current and future projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
At least 2 years of accounting or finance experience
OR Master's degree
At least 1 year of accounting or finance experience
OR At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Preferred
Strong understanding of the Target Cost Process
Proven ability to manage costs within complex matrix organizations
Solid knowledge of product cost drivers and lifecycle impacts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Effective meeting facilitation and presentation skills
Strategic mindset with the ability to execute actionable plans
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
Experience working in an international and cross-brand environment is a plus
