STEM Outreach Program Manager

Hampton University is seeking a STEM Outreach Program Manager and Lab Coordinator to develop and coordinate programming and activities for K-16 Engineering and Computing outreach. The role involves designing outreach events, maintaining program equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Design, coordinate recruitment and other outreach events
Identify outreach partners
Serve as the community engagement and partnership coordinator
Serve as the primary point of contact for STEM outreach
Work with all stakeholders of the program including program evaluator
Assist with coordinating logistical details of the student assistants and training
Identifying and enforcing safety protocols for all equipment and activities
Maintain an inventory of all program equipment, software, and supplies
Ensure technology and materials are up-to-date, functional, and safe for student use
Stay updated on district, state, and federal regulations
Provide support for and coordinate social media and web presence
Recommend changes to improve programs and processes

Required

The successful applicant must have a baccalaureate degree or equivalent experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Experience with coordinating STEM outreach activities
Great communication skills and ability to captivate students
Ability to carry up to 30 pounds of STEM equipment
Knowledge of office suites and/or iOS platforms
